Wholewheat Pan Pizza

Ingredients

Pizza base

  • 2 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup lukewarm milk 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 2 tbsps of olive oil

For the topping

  • 150gms boneless chicken
  • 3/4 tsp paprika/kashmiri chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsps oil
  • 1/3 green pepper, sliced
  • 1/3 red pepper, sliced
  • 8 olives, sliced
  • Few jalapeno slices
  • 3 tbsps pizza sauce
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 2 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • Salt to taste

Method

Take 3/4 cup lukewarm milk in a bowl.

Add 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp honey and 1 tsp yeast. Mix and keep aside for 5 minutes.

In a large bowl, take 2 cups of whole wheat flour. Add 2 tbsps of olive oil and salt to taste. Pour in the yeast mixture.

Mix well using a spatula. Knead until a smooth dough is formed. Keep it back in the bowl. Apply some oil on the dough. Cover with a cling wrap and allow to proof for 2 hours or until doubled in size.

Take 150gms of boneless chicken in a bowl. Marinate the chicken with 3/4 tsp paprika and salt to taste.

Heat 2 tbsps of oil in a pan. Add the chicken pieces and fry until it starts browning. Remove from heat and keep aside.

Once the dough is doubled in volume, knead it again for a minute and divide it into 2 portions.

Take one portion and keep the other portion covered.

Roll the dough in the size of the pan we are going to make the pizza.

Grease the pan with little oil and place the dough in the pan. Gently press the dough with your fingers and create dent.

Puncture the surface with the fork.

Spread some oil on top of the dough.

Cover and cook for 7 minutes in low to medium heat. Carefully flip and cook for 3 mins.

Flip it again and spread 2-3tbsps of pizza sauce.

Top the pizza with mozzarella cheese, fried chicken pieces, peppers, olives and jalapeno. Sprinkle some oregano and salt.

Cover and cook for 7 minutes.

Carefully lift the pizza and place a small steel plate in the pan. Place the pizza on top of that. Cover and cook for 8-10 mins in medium heat.

Remove from the heat. Repeat the same with the remaining dough.

Slice and enjoy.
