Chicken Pizza

Ingredients

For Pizza Dough

  • 2 cups all purpose flour / maida
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp dry yeast / instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm water
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1-2 tbsps of water (or as required to knead)

For toppings

  • 6-8 tbsp pizza sauce
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers thinly sliced
  • 1 cup grated Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup boneless chicken diced
    • For frying chicken
    • 1 tbsp of olive oil
    • 1/2 tsp paprika/kashmiri chilly powder
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
    • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup olives
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 cup of diced chicken sausage(optional)

Method

1. Dissolve 1 tsp of sugar and 1 tsp of yeast in 1/2 cup of water. Keep it aside for 5 minutes.

2. On a flat surface make a well in the center of the flour.

3. Pour the water among melted yeast, add salt and oil, mix well and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic. Add water if needed.

4. Allow to prove for atleast 2 hours inside a covered container or until it has doubled in size.

5. Divide the dough into 2 portions and shape each portion to a ball.

6. Take one ball. Grease the pan and spread the dough.

7. Puncture the surface with a fork.

8. Season with the pizza sauce and leave to stand for about 20 minutes.

9. Bake the pizza in preheated oven at 200°C for 5-6 minutes.

10. In the meantime, marinate the chicken pieces with 1/2 teaspoon of paprika / kashmiri chilly powder, 1/2 black pepper powder and salt to taste.

11. Heat a pan and fry chicken pieces until slightly golden. Keep it aside.

12. Once the dough is half cooked, add grated mozzarella, fried chicken, sausages, bell peppers and olives. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of Oregano.

13. Bake the pizza again for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

14. Slice and enjoy.

Repeat the same with the remaining dough.

Notes

Use toppings of your choice.

Use different colors of capsicum to make pizza more colourful.

Every oven is different and hence cooking time may vary slightly, so watch carefully.

You can sprinkle some chilly flakes to make it spicy.
