Ingredients
- 2-3 medium apples (use Bramley Apple if available)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/3 tsp cinnamon powder
For the crumble
- 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour/plain flour/maida
- 6 tbsp sugar
- 150 gm unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
Method
Peel, core and dice the apples.(Keep it in the water if not using immediately to avoid the color change.)
Heat a saucepan and place the apples. Add 2 tbsp sugar and 1/3 tsp cinnamon powder. Mix well.
Cover with lid and cook for 5 minutes, or until the apples are soft.
Remove from heat.
In a large bowl, add 1 3/4 cups flour, 150gm butter(at room temperature), 6 tbsp sugar and 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder.
Rub with your fingers until it resembles breadcrumbs.
Transfer the apple mixture to a baking dish.
Sprinkle the crumble topping over this.
Gently press with the back side of a fork.
Bake in the oven at 180°C for 25-30 minutes or until golden.
Serve with icecream or custard.
