- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/2 cup(130g) plain/Greek yogurt (room temperature)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 cup (60g) cocoa powder(unsweetened)
- 1/3 tsp salt
Method
Mash 3-4 well ripe bananas using a fork. Keep aside.
In a large bowl, take 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup granulated sugar. Beat using a electric beater until well combined.
Crack open 2 large eggs. Beat until smooth.
Add 1/2 cup yogurt, 1 tsp vanilla essence, mashed bananas and 1/3 tsp salt. Blend again for a minute. Scrape off the sides of the bowl while beating.
Sieve in 1 1/2 cups plain/all purpose flour, 1 tsp baking powder and 1 tsp baking soda.
Mix well using a spatula.
Transfer 1/3rd of this batter to another bowl. Add 1/2 cup cocoa powder to this batter. Mix well using a spatula. Add 1 1/2 tbsp milk to loosen the batter. Mix until combined.
Transfer half of the plain banana batter to a greased and lined baking tin.
Spoon the chocolate batter on top.
Pour remaining plain banana batter on top of the chocolate batter. Level with a spatula.
Tap 2 times. Swirl the batter using a skewer only once to get a marble effect.
Bake at 170°C for 50-55 minutes or until skewer inserted comes out clean.
Allow to cool down before slicing.
Enjoy a slice with a cup of tea/coffee.
