Sirloin Steak with Creamy peppercorn sauce and sauted vegetables

Ingredients

Sirloin Steak

  1. Sirloin steak : 2 x 155 gram
  2. Pepper : 1/2 teaspoon
  3. Garlic Powder : 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Salt : as per taste
  5. Garlic cloves : 4-6 No.
  6. Dried/Fresh Rosemary/Thyme : 1/3 teaspoon
  7. Vegetable Oil : 2 tablespoons
Ingredients for steak

Creamy Peppercorn Sauce

  1. Gravy Granules (Chicken/Beef) : 3 tablespoons
  2. Crushed Peppercorns : 1 tablespoons
  3. Double cream : 1/3 cup
  4. Tomato Sauce : 2 tablespoons
  5. Boiled water : 1 1/2 cup
  6. Salt : 1/2 teaspoon
Ingredients for peppercorn sauce

To saute vegetables

  1. Diced Mushroom : 300 gram
  2. Broccoli florets : 1 cup
  3. Medium sized Onion : 1 No.
  4. Garlic : 1 tablespoon chopped
  5. Black Pepper powder : 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Salt : as per taste
  7. Butter : 2 tablespoons, cubed
Ingredients for sauteed veggies

Preparation

Sirloin steak

  1. Season steak with salt, pepper and garlic powder. For best results, leave it for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat a large frying pan to a high heat. Add 2 tablespoons of oil.
  3. Add steaks to pan. Add in the garlic cloves and the rosemary.
  4. Cook for 3 minutes on each side (for well done) or until the desired degree of doneness.
  5. Remove steak form the pan and set aside.

Creamy Peppercorn Sauce

  1. Heat a pan. Add 3 tablespoons of gravy granules and 1 1/2 cup of boiling water and mix well.
  2. Add freshly crushed peppercorns, tomato sauce and salt. Stir and bring to the boil.
  3. Reduce the heat and add the double cream and mix well. Add water if needed.
  4. Remove from heat.

Sauteed Mushroom and Broccoli

  1. Heat a pan and add butter.
  2. Add garlic and onion and saute for 3 minutes or until softened.
  3. Add mushrooms and broccoli and cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Remove form heat.

Serve the steak with the creamy peppercorn sauce and the sauteed mushroom and broccoli.
