{"id":811,"date":"2020-12-04T14:10:58","date_gmt":"2020-12-04T14:10:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/foodtocherish.wordpress.com\/?p=811"},"modified":"2022-01-25T19:46:48","modified_gmt":"2022-01-25T19:46:48","slug":"broken-wheat-vegetable-upma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foodtocherish.com\/?p=811","title":{"rendered":"Broken wheat vegetable upma"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 cup broken wheat<\/li><li>1\/2 capsicum, finely chopped<\/li><li>Handful of coriander leaves, finely chopped<\/li><li>1 carrot, finely chopped<\/li><li>10-12 beans, finely chopped<\/li><li>1 onion, finely chopped<\/li><li>Small piece of ginger, finely chopped<\/li><li>1 tomato, finely chopped<\/li><li>2 green chillies, finely chopped<\/li><li>21\/2 cups water<\/li><li>Salt to taste<\/li><li>1 tsp mustard seeds<\/li><li>1 tsp urad dal<\/li><li>2 tbsp sunflower oil<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Wash and drain 1 cup of broken wheat. Keep aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heat a pan and roast the drained broken wheat for 10-12 minutes or until you hear a spluttering sound. Remove from heat and keep aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heat a pan and add 2 tbsp of oil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add 1 tsp mustard seeds. Once it starts spluttering, add 1 tsp urad dal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add finely chopped vegetables and stir well. Cook for 5 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add 2 1\/2 cups of water and salt to taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cover and cook until the water starts boiling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add the roasted broken wheat and stir well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cover and cook until the water is completely absorbed. Don&#8217;t forget to stir inbetween.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the water is completely absorbed and is cooked well, remove from heat and serve hot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image
